Narrowboats on scary canal aquaduct (Video)

Narrowboats “Thomas Telford” and “Sally” crossing Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in North Wales, on the Llangollen Canal.

126 feet, 8 inches from the river bed to the top outside edge of the trough. The towpath is about 3 or 4 inches higher, and the handrail some 3 feet above that, a total of 130 feet above the river bed.

The ironwork is 1007 feet long, and the southern embankment 90 feet high at the abutments.   Scary!
